4/0-3 Type G-GC Portable Power and Mining Cable

The 4/0-3 Type G-GC portable power and mining cable is a multi-conductor cable coming with 3 conductors that are highly flexible thanks to the annealing process they have been taken through. The cable is used for heavy duty power supply in industrial and mining set ups as it has the ability to transmit up to 600 volts of 16 AMPS. The cable is also very light to carry around as it only weighs 3747 Lbs. the conductor is protected by an EPDM insulation and a CPE jacket making the cable very durable. The power cable has been taken through a series of tests and has been proven safe by a number of international bodies such as NEC, CSA, and MSHA.

    This is a multi conductor power cable coming with three fully annealed stranded bare copper conductors. Each conductor performs different tasks from the other and for this reason they have been colored red, yellow and green to identify them easily. The conductor of the 4/0-3 type G-GC cable is highly flexible and malleable and this is owed to the annealing process the cable has gone through. To increase the flexibility of the cable, the conductor has been stranded. These processes also ensure the conductor stays intact and durable for a long time. The outer diameter of the 4/0-3 type G-GC cable is 2.015 inches and thus easily fits into circuit ducts. The 4/0 gauge conductor is able to transmit up to 600 volts of power at 16 amps. The conductor stranding stands at 532/24 and has been put in place in accordance with the ASTM B 174 standard which spells out the formation of strands. The conductor is versatile and can be used for a number of projects as it measures 8 AWG to 500 MCM.


    The insulation comes after the copper conductor. The 4/0-3 type G-GC cable has an insulation made of premium grade oil resistant Ethylene Propylene (EPDM). The work of the insulation is to provide all kinds of protection against any damage that may come upon the conductor. It is a rubber like material with great features. It has the ability to resist water and weather changes. It is also resistant to water, abrasion and ozone. Apart from protecting the conductor from all these, it also shield the user from getting electrocuted or from a short circuit. This makes the 4/0-3 type G-GC cable safe for use.


    The jacket comes after the EPDM insulation. Its work is to protect the conductor and the insulation from physical and chemical damages. The jacket of this cable has been made of chlorinated polyethylene (CPE). This is a premium grade material that is oil, water and sunlight resistant.  This makes the cable operate optimally even in harsh environments. The jacket is flexible but tough and sturdy material. It thus makes the cable cut and bend easily according to the needs of the user. The cable is also flame retardant making it safe for use even in the event of a fire break out.
