Applications:

ACWU is a building electrical wire primarily designed for direct burial and the use in hazardous conditions. This multi-purpose electrical wire can be used in dry and wet conditions, both as concealed and exposed wiring. It is also perfect for all types of cable trays, regardless of whether they are ventilated. Other uses include power distribution, branch circuits, and power distribution. The recommended temperatures for installation are between -40 C and 90 C. The cable is rated at 600 v.

Construction:

Conductors:

Multi-conductor ACWU cables have 1 to 4 aluminum conductors with a bare aluminum bonding ground wire. Aluminum conductors are compact or compressed Class B.

Insulation:

The cables are equipped with a cross-linked RW90 XLPE polyethylene insulation. It is resistant to flow, aging, and high temperatures. The cable has an aluminum interlocked armour (AIA).

Jacket:

The cable has a PVC jacket per FT4 and AG14 standards. It is resistant to flames, moisture, and sunlight.

  • Conductor assembly is wrapped and enclosed in an interlocked aluminum armour with an overall low acid gas, low flame spread, sunlight resistant PVC jacket (LAG/LFS) with FT4 and AG14 rating.
  • #8 and larger are HL rated for Class I Div 1 & 2 Groups A, B, C & D, Class II Div 1 & 2 Groups E, F & G and Class III Hazardous Locations.
