Every Fire Alarm Cable is designed with special aspects to optimizeits performance in the circuitthat it is meant to serve. The Non-Shielded and Non-Plenum cable is made of copper conductors, which are have individual insulation made of polypropylene. It is also jacketed with PVC which is color coded for easy phase identification.
• Standards and Certifications

This is a way to confirm that the fire alarm cable is will ensure safe transmission and quality performance. Non-Shielded and Non-Plenum Fire Alarm cable are in line with the National Engineers Code (NEC) Article 760. The cable meets the requirements of Flame Test 4, for flame retardants and UL Type FPLR.
The conductor is made of solid annealed copper conductors as per ASTM B3 and B8 are flexible and lightweight. Annealing of copper conductors makes it soft and malleable to enhancethe flexibility of this cable. A flexible and lightweight cable is easier to handle as compared to rigid cable which takes more effort to pack. Copper conductors provide a reliable long term performance, thanks to the good electrical attributes of copper like thermal conductivity.
• Insulation and Jacketing
Two copper electrodes are insulated with a polypropylene..Insulationeliminates any contact between the conductors which may lead to power surges and faults. Insulation also offers both chemical and mechanical protection from the punishing environmental conditions. Jacketing is the outer layer, which is made of the color coded Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC). The PVC jacketing is flame resistance, moisture resistance and do not succumb to deformations easily.
The cable is preferred for power distributions in fire alarms and can also be used as a communication cable. It is deployed in Riser or Non-Riser equipment.
