Fire Alarm Non-Shielded Plenum

Plenumrefers to the space used to provide air circulation in heating or air conditioning systems. Therefore, a Plenum Fire Alarm Cable is a special cable which is designed foran air conditioning mechanism. Heating systems hit high temperatures so the cables must have features which enhance its performance as a fire alarm cable which is prone to heat and flaming conditions. It is non – shielded but still offers a superb performance. The cable is designed and manufactured with solid annealed copper conductors, with the polypropylene insulation. Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) jacketing is color coded for easy identification. It has an operating temperature rating of750C.

• Conductor

  The cable is made of annealed copper conductors. Annealing of copper conductors involves heating them and allowing them to cool; making them soft and malleable without losing their good electrical conductivity properties. Annealed copper conductors are easy to install because they are easy to fold and terminate during installation. Copper known to be a good electrical conductor with good thermal conductivity and tensile strength.

• Insulation and Jacketing

  This cable has a polypropylene insulation and polyvinyl chloride jacketing. Polypropylene insulation and the tough Polyvinyl Chloride jacketing are color coded and offers an outstanding protection forthe cable and the handler. It protects the cable fromchemical attacks, fires and physical impacts. They are non-conducting sowill not expose the handler to electrocution.
