12/4 stow grey / yellow
The 12/4 stow grey/yellow cord is one of those cords designed with the latest technologies that are aimed to satisfy customer needs. Any person would naturally go for quality before any other feature, which is why manufacturers are spending sleepless nights trying to come up with better products. The 12/4 stow grey/yellow cord is made with a firm, cylindrical cord which offers it high flexibility to ensure it does not easily break, and yet also makes it easy to fold and transport. This feature enables it to be effectively used in applications that require movement from one location to another. Flexibility is one of the greatest features being focused on when new cords are being designed. This is just one of the features that makes these cords portable.
The 12/4 stow cord meets the UL 62 requirements and it is also MSHA approved. It is insulated with polyvinyl chloride (PVC) per UL 62. This gives the cord distinctive characteristics including strength and resistance against abrasion. Oils damage the cords, therefore the cords are made to be oil resistant. Oil damages the molecular structure of the cords, therefore making it less durable. Alkalines and acids also corrode the cords. The manufacturers have also ensured this is well taken care of.
The 12/4 stow cord has 18 conductors through 6 AWG that are fully annealed with bare copper as per ASTM B-174. The PVC is then grey/yellow color coded and then used to coat the outer part. The cords can also be used in very high voltages, from 300V up to 600V. They have been made to be very strong and therefore they can withstand this high voltage. They can also be used in a wide range of temperatures, between -20°C and 60°C. They can be used in dry locations where the temperatures range between -34 °C and a maximum of 105 °C. They can also be used in damp areas with temperatures of up to 60 °C.
The cord has an insulation thickness of 0.045 inches. Its outside diameter is 16.51mm/ 0.0650 inches. The weight of this cord is 0.26Ibs per ft with 20 current Amps. The 12/4 stow cord can be used for power distribution and has a push button with remote control systems, motor control systems and lighting equipment that can be used in the outdoor applications. They are therefore suited for use in applications that require a diminished flame.
The 12/4 stow cord is ROHS compliant and is approved in the federal and military use under the Federal Spec. JC-580B. It is also CSA certified 600 V and 300V SJTOW cable to NEC article 400. This cord can also be used in the floor maintenance equipment, home equipment and even hospital machines that require strong cables as a result of high voltage and temperatures.
These and other features have given the 12/4 stow cord priority in the market over other cables which lack the capability to withstand extreme conditions. Continued improvement by the manufacturing companies also promises improvement of its features.
