The AAC cable can be of two classes: class AA cables are with bare conductors to be used in overhead lines, and class A is for both bare conductors for increased flexibility and conductors with a weather-resistant cover.

Construction

AAC cable has a concentric lay stranded conductor consisting of Aluminum Alloy 1350-H19 wires and is available in both single-layer and multi-layer constructions.

Note: AAC ampacity is based on 75ºC conductor temperature, 25 ºC ambient, 2ft1s wind, 961 watts/sq. foot sun, 0.5 coefficients of emissivity and absorption.
