Aluminum Conductor 25KV URD cable is primary used for underground distribution, in direct burial or installed in conduit. 25KV URD cable is suitable for use in wet or dry locations. URD cable is to be used at 15,000 volts or less and not to exceed 90°C temperature in normal use.
Aluminum Conductor 25KV URD cable has a solid or compressed concentric strand soft drawn 1350 series aluminum conductor per ASTM.
Aluminum Conductor 25KV URD cable has an extruded thermoset semiconducting shield, which is free stripping from the conductor and bonded to the insulation.
Aluminum Conductor 25KV URD cable has naturally high dielectric strength TR-XLPE insulation. There is also extruded thermoset semiconducting insulation shield. Optional EPR insulation is available upon request.
Aluminum Conductor 25KV URD cable has a concentric neutral shield consisting of solid bare copper wires helically applied and uniformly spaced over the insulation shield.
Aluminum Conductor 25KV URD cable has a black jacket of linear lows density polyethylene (LDPE), which is sunlight, abrasion and heat resistant. The jacket has 3 red stripes, the NESC lightning bolt and sequential footage markings.

Aluminum 25KV Conductor Cable is made of 1350 aluminum series in accordance to ASTM B8. The 1350 series are easy to install and terminate because they are flexible and easy to carry as compared to heavy copper cables. Aluminum conductors are in seven strands which are shielded with a thermosetting semi-conductor.
The 25KV Aluminum Cable has a superb insulation to keep it safe in the rocky underground conditions. The tree retardant cross linked polyethylene insulation is semi-conducting and heat resistance. TR-XLPE protects the cable from deformations as well as ensuring that the safety of the user is not infringed. This layer is shielded with a metallic shield made of solid and bare copper wires that are applied helically round the core. Shielding helps in limiting mechanical stress and also maintains the circular phase identification.
It is jacketed with a linear low density polyethylene which is black color coded. The LLDPE improves the durability of the cable as it provides protection from the demanding environmental conditions.
At temperatures of 900C and below, Aluminum 25KV URD cable is suitable. It is installed through direct burials and conduit. Aluminum Cable is desired for long distance power distributions because of its higher carrying capacity and good sagging effect.
