Application: 

Mainly used for severe environments where maximum conductor protection is required. Has an armor resistant to water, gas and corrosive elements into the electrical core. Instrumentation and process and control uses of claims commercial and industrial pulp and paper, mining, and petroleum applications. UL permitted for continuous use at 105°C in wet or dry locations, 140°C for emergency overload conditions, and 250°C for short circuit conditions.UL listed, Type MC-HL per UL Standard 2225 for use in Class I, Division I hazardous locations. This cable has an economical alternative to wire in conduit systems due to the waterproof welded corrugated armor cable.

Conductors:

Soft bare annealed copper per ASTM B-3, Class B stranding per ASTM B-8 (compressed) or ASTM B-496 (compact), with a semi-conducting conductor shield.

Insulation:

Ethylene propylene rubber (EPR) per ICEA S-96-659.

Grounding Conductor:

Soft bare annealed copper per ASTM B-3, Class B stranding per ASTM B-8 sized in accordance with UL 1072.

Armor:

Impervious continuously welded and corrugated aluminum.

Jacket:

PVC Sunlight-resistant, and yellow flame-retardant 

Flame Tests:

ICEA 70,000 BTU/hr and 210,000 BTU/hr flame test

Continuously Welded Armor Cable Type MV-105 MC-HL Non-Shielded EPR Insulation 2.4Kv

Type MV-105 MC-HL armor cable is a power cable, designed with various mechanical and electrical properties to enable it serve well in a wide range of applications. It is heavily armored and insulated so that it can work efficiently in almost any environmental condition.

• Conductor

Copper used in the construction of the cable is soft, bare and annealed. The conductor could also be stranded as per ASTM B-8 or a compact design according to ASTM B-496. The conductors have semi-conducting conductor shield. It also has a grounding conductor sized according to the UL 1072.

• Insulation

The cable has a strong insulation system made of ethylene propylene rubber (EPR). Such a strong and flexible insulation is easier to work with especially during installation because it easily conforms to the shape of the duct or cable tray. EPR effectively safeguards the conductors from any destructive elements. It also has yellow colored sunlight resistant PVC and flame retardant.

• Applications

This armored cable serves you right in adverse conditions where adequate conductor protection is paramount. The armor is able to keep off water, gases and many other corrosive agents that may infiltrate the electrical core. It is a useful power cable needed in instrumentation and control system of various machines either commercially or industrially.

Being UL approved to serve in high temperatures of up to 1050C, the cable is suitable for volatile locations. It has an allowed emergency temperature tolerance of 1400C overload conditions and 2500C for short circuit conditions.
