The Type G Portable and Mining Cable is an 8 AWG to 500MCM gauge power cable with multiple color-coded conductors and a drain wire each of between 8AWG and 500 MCM. The conductors are made of fully annealed stranded bare copper wire. The Type G Portable and Mining Cable is a 3 phase power cable that efficiently wires power of up to 2000V through a sophisticated system, this application is carried out for many years without the worry of cable overhauls. This copper conductor is then insulated with a premium grade EPDM insulator. An overall CPE jacket is then put over the underlying insulated conductors.

Type G Portable and Mining Cable have multiple conductors of 8 AWG gauge sizes. It is fitted with fully annealed bare copper conductors of ASTM 174 stranding and a tin-plated drain wire. All the conductors and drain wire has EPDM insulation with an overall CPE jacket.
Type G Portable and Mining Cable is fitted with fully annealed stranded copper conductors. Copper wire is an excellent electrical conductor. Annealing and stranding improves its good properties. The copper wire is annealed through controlled heat treatment that makes it flexible and with high tensile strength. High tensile strength is a good attribute that helps it to resist breakage, stretch and creep under high tension.
Stranding on the other hand involves wounding many wires together into a uniformly aligned rope lay. Stranding increases the thickness of the cable, therefore, providing a large surface area for conduction. Increase in the surface area of the conductor minimizes the rate of power loss and reduces the internal resistance of the conductors.
Type G Portable and Mining Cable functions effectively in circuits of up to 2000V and a wide temperature range of between -40°C and 90°C. This means the cable can function in wet areas and even submerged environments. The cable also has a drain wire which helps to dissipate excess heat from the system and to counter the effect of electromagnetic induction.
