Type MP-GC cables are designed for use with stationary horizontal HV mine power distribution circuits. It can be use for permanent or semi-portable applications with power transmission in deep mines, strip mines, open pits, and tunnels. The cable can be used in wet or dry locations, installed in conduit or duct, (not to exceed maximum rated voltage), and suitable for direct burial applications.
Type MP-GC cables have compact copper conductors covered by an extruded semi-conductive conductor shield. The conductors are insulated with a HV grade flame resistant thermosetting EPR 100% insulation that is ozone, oil, water, solvent, corrosive and abrasion. The insulation shield consist of a helically applied 3 mil copper tape with a 1/2 over lap. The cable has two bare copper ground wires and one yellow heavy duty EPR insulated ground check. Non-wicking filler are used to maintain a balanced round cross section and a tightcable assembly. A woven nylon polyester reinforcement binder is applied over the completed assembly for added core to jacket integrity. The outer jacket is made with a heavy duty flame resistant CPE that provides excellent resistance to UV, oil water solvents, corrosives, cuts, tears, and abrasions.

Here is another Mining Industrial cable designed with an EPR insulation. The cable has voltage power rating of from 5kV to 15KV making it suitable for both high and medium power distribution. It is available is a wide range of sizes, spanning from 4AWG to 500 kcmil.
Type MP-GC cable also known as American Mustang is made with copper conductors. These conductors are compacted in design which makes them stronger and stable. They are then covered with extruded semi-conductor shield whose purpose is to establish reinforcement.
With a High Voltage grade and flame resistance thermosetting EPR material, the cable conductors are insulated. This insulation provided 100% resistance to oil, ozone, water, solvent, all corrosive elements, tearing and abrasion. The insulation shield comprises a 3 mil copper tape which is helically applied creating a ½ overlap. This cable has unique design in its construction, they include:
- It has two bare copper ground wires with a heavy duty yellow EPR insulated ground check wire.
- It has a non-wicking filler which creates a good cross section balance for the conductors and tighten up the cable assembly.
- A woven nylon polyester binder is used on the complete cable assembly to establish the cable jacket integrity and reinforcement.
The cable has a sturdy jacket made with heavy duty CPE. Its jacket is flame retardant and has high resistance to water, oil, corrosives, UV, cuts, abrasions, tears and other chemicals. With such a construction, it operates safely within a temperature range of -500C to 900C.
