Applications:

TPU Type SHD-GC Portable Power Cable is designed for use as heavy-duty trailing cable on mining equipment where maximum safety is required. Also suitable for high voltage distribution in underground mines where portable power is necessary. 

Construction:

TPU Type SHD-GC Portable Power Cable conductors are flexible, rope stranded, uncoated annealed copper conforming to ICEA S-75-381 Paragraph 3.11 and ASTM B-3/B 173. A semi-conducting tape is applied over the conductor with a 10% minimum overlap. The tape shall meet the requirements of ICEA S-75-381 Paragraph 3.14. The separator is a 10 mil nominal thickness semi-conducting tape colored black, white and red is helically applied over the insulation with a 50% nominal overlap. The tape shall meet the requirements of ICEA S-75-381 Paragraph 3.17. The shield is tinned coated copper braid with an 85% minimum coverage and is applied over the taped and insulated conductor. It shall meet the requirements of ICEA S-75-381 Paragraph 3.19.1.1. The ground check conductor is a flexible rope-lay stranded, tin coated annealed copper conductor insulated with 45 mils of a yellow insulating XLP compound. Three insulated power conductors are assembledround in a helical configuration with two grounding conductors, one ground check conductor, rubber fillers, as necessary, and with a suitable lay. The ground check conductor shall be placed in the valley between the black and white phase conductors. A rubber faced fabric tape is helically applied over the assembly with a 15% nominal overlap. A high strength reinforcement shall be applied as two reversed serves or as an open braid. Jacket is black, yellow, or orange as standard offering of heavy duty thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU). Alternate jacket colors are available for manufacture. Consult factory for details. Also available is in 25 kV construction.

    TPU Type SHD-GC Portable Power Mining Industrial Cable 8000V

    This is a portable power cable with flexible copper conductors, which are rope stranded, uncoated and annealed. The conductor design conforms to ICEA S-75-381. It also has a semi-conducting tape wrapped over the conductors with a minimum overlap of 10%. It is shielded with tinned copper braid which together with the tape helps to make the cable more stable.

    Applications

    TPU Type SHD-GC Portable Power cable is suitable for high voltage power distributions in the underground mines. It is designed for heavy duty trails on mining activities where sure security is vital.

    The SHD-GC-2KV, 5KV, 8KV are mining cables which are designed specifically to help in underground and surface mining. They have excellent flexibility and torsion resistance due to their superior construction and applied materials as well as tinned and rope lay conductors and pure integral filling. The cables are stranded anneled copper enveloped in a strand shield and they are Ethylene Propylene Rubber or cross linked polyethylene insulated.  Due to applying individual shielding and minimizing induction of mutual electromotive forces it provides maximum working safety while using these cables.

    The SHD-GC 2KV, 5KV, 8KV having the same properties which include simultaneous extrusion and vulcanization of both strand shield and insulation which form a virtually perfect electrode thus eliminating unbalanced electrical stresses, flexibility for easy handling, high dielectric strength, high resistance to impact, cutting, frame and sunlight, perfect thermo stability and physical properties over a wide  range of temperature, two layer jacket reinforced to give maximum physical damage and excellent heat ,oil ,corona , moisture and resistance from radiation. These cables are durable i.e. excellent abrasion; compression, tear and flame resistance since their jacketing compounds includes Neoprene, chlorinated polyethylene and chlorosulfonated polyethylene.

    The assembly of these cables is semi-conducting tape and also metallic tape shielded with a grounding conductor consisting of two bare grounds and one 8-gauge insulated ground check that are cabled together in the interstices of the power conductors and fillers are also added to make it round.

    The SDH-GC 2KV, 5KV, 8KV is designed for high voltage connections between the power distribution in mine tunnels. Shafts and mine load centers where there is a requirement of a continuous monitoring of the ground system. The high voltage property enables the cable to be used on open-bit mining shovels, dredges, cranes, drag lines as well as other mobile equipment that normally requires high voltage lines capable of withstanding  continuous flexing or reeling in severe operating environments

    These cables are suitable for installation in ducts, troughs and trays because they are heavy duty portable power cable used in circuits where they are designed. They support maximum continuous temperature of 90 degree centigrade sand flame resistant.

    The SHD-GC 2KV,5KV, 8KV is used for off track equipment and power feeders of underground mines since it has dielectric strength, excellent resistivity, low flammability, good elongation capability, low flexural modulus, excellent resistance to water absorption, oils and fuels

    The cable is designed for use as a trailing cable for AC mining equipment where services are severe and maximum safety is an important requirement such as power shovels and drag lines in open pit- mines, quarries, gantry cranes and slag reclaiming. They are also useful for high voltage distribution in underground mines where frequent relocation is necessary.

    The SHD-GC 2KV.5KV, 8KV cable has standards which conform to ICEA S-66-524 (NEMA WC8) portable and power feeder cables for use in mines and similar applications. They meet flame test requirements which are accepted for listing by MSHA. This cable also meets CAN/CSA-C22.2 NO. 96 portable power cables. Therefore, these cables are the best suited for mining purposes
