Yes, if you are fitting this battery cable, make sure that it is being installed in an environment that does not experience temperatures more than 125 degrees Celsius. I have a Battery Cable STX used to connect my system, and its heating up. What could be the problem?
Having the wrong size of a cable will cause it to heat. The size of the cable is determined by elements like the gauge or diameter and the length. If you have a thicker or larger diameter cable, it presents less resistance and thus there is no much heat being lost to the cable. Also, if you have a longer cable, expect that there will be more resistance and therefore more heat lost. That’s is why if you measure the voltage at the end of the wire, you may find that it is lower than that at the batter. This scenario may in the end cause problems with the equipments, accessories, or parts that are being powered by the battery. If more heat is being lost, the system being powered may not be efficient. For example, the lights of the car may appear dim and the fans may not be functioning optimally. What you may want to do is look for the correct size of the battery wire.
