Details

Type JX Overall Shield Solid Thermocouple Wire

JX Overall Shield Wire is an extension cable which is meant for extremely high temperature performances. This thermocouple wire is made of sturdy insulation and shielding materials to withstand the punishing high temperature conditions, which it is designed for. It has an operational temperature rating at 105 degrees Celsius and a voltage rating at 300 volts. The cable is also color coded for easy identification. Type JX Wire offers mounting to multiples of instrumentation sensors.

• Conductor

Thermocouple JX Wire is available in different part numbers and American Wire Gauge (AWG) size. It is made of a pair of solid stranded copper conductor measuring 20 AWG through 16 AWG with a thickness of 0.1940 inches. Copper has good thermal and electrical conductivity thus improving the performance of this Thermocouple Wire, when subjected to high temperatures.

• Compliance

The cable is tested and approved to meet all the necessary International Laboratory requirements of NEC and UL. JX Thermocouple Wire is in line with UL 13 and the flame test IEEE 1202.

• Insulation

Two copper conductors have an individual PVC insulation with an average thickness of 15 mils. Thick insulation explains why the cable is capable of performing in higher temperatures of 1050C without tearing. Polyvinyl Chloride offers a superb chemical and mechanical protection to the cable. It eliminates any contacts between the grounding wire and the live conductors, which would cause power blows and faults.

• Shielding and Jacketing

An aluminum foil shield wraps the conductors and the grounding wire together to prevent overlapping, for maximum performance. The flame retardant PVC jacketing which is color coded in accordance to INSA/ANSI MC96.1 ensures safety from deformations.

Applications

Extending thermocouple signals in;

a) Steel plants
b) Pulp and paper
c) Heat treating
d) Food processing
e) Petrochemical
