Type conductors are primarily used in control cabinets, in machine tool applications and appliance wiring applications. Applications requiring Type MTW conductor is appropriate for use in dry locations at 90°C, or not to exceed 60°C in wet locations or where exposed to oils or coolants. Applications requiring Type AWM conductor is appropriate for use at temperatures to not exceed 105°C in dry locations.

TYPE MTW/UL1283 BARE COPPER WIRE
This cable is specially designed to reach the requirements of the UL (Underwriter Laboratories). This cable is very flexible and easily portable. The cable is approved for use in both internal and external wiring.
The MTW UL1283 STRANDED BARE COPPER HOOK UP WIRE is available with conductors that are tinned copper Hook Up wire or stranded bare copper Hook Up wire. The tinned copper conductors are more durable since tin-plating reduces the rate of corrosion. Tinning also increases the lifespan of the cable since it increases flexibility therefore allowing for multiple folding without breaking. The stranded bare cooper is also good since copper offers very high conductivity with low resistance to the flow of currents.
The cable preferred for operations at a temperature range of -40 to 105 degrees Centigrade (221F). The cable also transmits electricity of voltage of up to 600 volts RMS. It is also a RoHS compliant.
The conductor is insulated with a color coded Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC), the colors may be pure or even stripped. PVC is a unique flame retardant, moisture, acid-diesel, abrasion and oil resistance .It also passes the VW-1 flame test, meaning that it can withstand very high temperature without getting damaged.
The cable is available in different color codes ranging from; red, green, blue, yellow, black, white to brown.
