Insulation/Jacket:
Flame Retardant Cross-linked Polyolefin, meeting the requirements for Type P of IEEE 1580 and Type X110 of UL 1309/CSA C22.2 No. 245. 2000V/IEC 1000V.

Type P Single Conductor Unarmored 600/2000V Power Cable

Type P unarmored cable is essentially meant for heavy duty applications. It is available in both 600 and 2000 volts option hence it can also be applied in medium weight applications.It is essentially meant for punishing applications such as petroleum facilities hence it has a tough design. Construction

Type P unarmored cable has a simple but tough design. It is composed of a conductor and an insulator or cable jacket.

Conductor

The conductor is responsible for transmitting current from one point to another. Its conductor is made of soft annealed stranded tinned copper in accordance to IEEE 1580. The stranding enhances the flexibility of the cable hence it can easily be installed in constricted areas and very easy to transport.

Insulation / cable jacket

The insulation or the cable jacket prevents direct contact with the live wire. It also protects the conductor from external damage caused by impact and other external forces. Cross-linked polyolefin is mostly used as the insulation or the cable jacket in accordance to IEE 1580.

Features

Since its application areas are prone to fires, it has a non-chlorinated flame retardant system which produces less toxic and corrosive gases. It has excellent resistance to moisture and has stable electrical properties. The type P unarmored cable has a lower dielectric constant and a higher insulation resistance which reduce electrical losses.Type P cable also has a high strand count in its conductors which enhances the flexibility of the cable. It jacket is also flame retardant hence it is less affected in case of fire outbreak.
