The MV105 copper power cable is also recommended for applications rated at 5000 volts and 8000 volts hence it can be used in heavy duty applications in relatively corrosive areas. The normally operating temperature of this cable is 90 degrees Celsius but in case of emergency overload conditions it can withstand temperatures of up to 130 degrees Celsius and 250 degrees in case a short circuit occurs. This is essentially because it is designed for corrosive environments which may cause constant change in temperature.

A conductor which acts as the cable’s electrolyte is made of copper which is stranded to increase efficiency and reliability of the cable. Laced on top of the conductor is a semi-conducting shield. The insulation is made of cross-linked polyethylene (XLP) and on top of it is another semi-conducting insulation shield.
