Alpha Wire Multi Conductor Twinax Braid Shield PVC Jacket Coaxial Cable
Twinax Braid cables have two conductors copper conductors which are twisted and separated by a double or single shield. Copper being the best in electrical conductivity is used because its outermost energy band is only partly occupied therefore a lot of electrons get to flow through it to transmit electric current. Copper is highly flexible with high tensile strength properties that give it long life span since it can resist stretching and breaking
Twinax Braid cables have a mechanically tough insulator made of Polyvinyl chloride (PVC). Insulation is very important since it protects the conductor from physical and chemical destructions that would otherwise interrupt the electrical transmissions. PVC is an organic compound with excellent dielectric features. It is preferable for insulation because it has good ozone and weather resistance properties. It can sustain high temperatures hence preferable for transmissions of high frequencies.
Due to the multiple wire available, need for bringing them together arises. They are therefore brought together by a single non-conductor material a process known as jacketing. Our Twinax Braid cable is made from Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) jacket. The PVC protects the conductor from action of weather and UV light that may interfere with the conductor.
This cable carries currents of high intensity hence a lot of electrical interference occurs. To counter this, Braid Shielding method is used. It involves putting a tight copper mesh around the cable to provide a direct path to the ground.
