C-L-X power cables are recommended as an economical alternate to a wire in conduit system. They are designed specifically for use as feeders or branch circuits in industrial and utility power distribution systems. C-L-X power cables may be installed in both exposed and concealed work, wet and dry locations, directly buried in the earth, or embedded in concrete. They may be installed on metal racks, troughs, in cable trays or secured to supports not greater than 6 feet apart.
C-L-X Type MC-HL cables are also approved for Classes I , II , and III , Division 1 and 2 and Class I , Zones 1 and 2 hazardous locations - NEC Articles 501, 502, 503 and 505
C-L-X Type MV-105 or MC-HL - Yellow Jacket Cable
This type of Multi-conductor power cable is yellow color coded for easy identification. C-L-X is instilled with filers, three grounding conductors which are left bare and wrapped with a binding tape to form the round core. The core is encased with the CCW (Continuously Corrugated Welded) aluminum sheath, which is covered by the low temperature yellow jacket.
This Type MV-105 power cable has three conductors, which are made of copper. The conductors do not exceed 10 feet long. These conductors are compacted and stranded according to the ASTM B496 requirements. Stranding of the conductors improves the flexibility of this cable, whereas compacting makes them creep resistant. Copper is one of the best electrical conductors and thus provides superb performance on the C-L-X Power Cable.

C-L-X Power Cable is insulated with the semiconducting Ethylene Propylene Rubber (EPR). This protects the handler from electric shocks when handling the cable. EPR also improves the service life as it protects it from chemical and mechanical damages like chlorides, abrasion, creeping or any other deformations.
The cable is shielded with a 5 mil bare copper tape that is applied helically. It has a 12.5% nominal overlap and holds the conductors in positions.
It is jacketed with a low temperature PVC which is yellow colored. The PVC protects the cable from damages in the harsh environmental conditions. These damages include; flames, abrasions, moisture, chloride chemicals and oil.
C-L-X power cable is installed in both wet and dry locations. It is meant for use as feeders and branch circuits for industrial and utility systems. The cable can be installed through direct burial, cable trays, troughs and raceways.
