STO Flexible Portable Cord 600V UL/CSA White Cable
STO Flexible Cord is a multipurpose cable which has an operational temperature range of -400C and 600C. This means that it can conveniently serve 600 volts in both wet and dry environmental conditions. The name STO refers to Service Thermoplastic and Oil-resistance jacketing. STO shows some of the superb qualities of this cable. It is designed with copper conductors, which are insulated with Polyvinyl Chloride; and jacketed with PVC for additional protection. STO Portable Cord is one of the most handy portable power distribution cables found in the market.
STO Flexible Cord is made of copper conductors, which are bare fully annealed and stranded as per ASTM B174. They measure 10 American Wire Gauge (AWG) with 18 strands and ten feet long. Stranding improves the flexibility of this cable and the carrying capacity. Annealing is the process of heating the copper conductors and letting them cool without interfering with their good electrical properties. It makes them flexible hence easy to install.
• Standards and Certifications
These are evidences that assure the public that type STO Flexible Portable Cord is designed with genuine materials and is ready to serve its intended purpose. They include:
• ASTM B174
• MSHA Approved
• Underwriters Laboratory (UL) Subject 62
• National Electrical Code Approval
• ASTM B8 and B3
• Insulation and Jacketing
The Polyvinyl Chloride insulation offers a superb chemical and mechanical protection to the conductors. This is because it is tough and do not succumb to abrasion easily. It is flame retardant and non-biodegradable; making it resistant to fungal attacks. STO Portable cable is also jacketed with PVC, which is color coded for easy identification. Jacketing is the outer layer which keeps the conductors safe from direct mechanical damages. It also prevents the user from shocks.
