The bare copper conductor is insulated with a Cross-linked Polyethylene (XPLE) compound. XPLE is a strong organic compound with a flame-retardant property that can enable it to protect the appliance and gadgets in case of a fire accident.
This cable is shielded with aluminum/polyester foil shield which has a 100% coverage on the surface of the cable. Shielding helps to regulate an electrical interference that may arise due to the high voltage.
The cable is jacketed with Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) material. PVC is a hydrocarbon which is highly unsaturated due to the continuous chains of Hydrogen and Carbon elements which gives it its hard nature. PVC is highly flexible with good resistance to weather conditions like rain and strong sunlight that would otherwise destroy the conductor.

Why should I go in for a shielded cable?

Can I use a shielded cable to connect equipment from two different circuits?
When you connect equipment from two different circuits, there might be some grounding issues as it can form a ground loop. However, when the ground voltage difference is minimal, there is no need to worry. In case it is high, it can damage the system, but you can terminate one end of the shielded cable using a connector which is non-shielded. However, this causes a floating shield and if this picks up additional noise, you will have to do proper grounding at both ends.
