646 MCM DLO Cable
The 646 DLO cable is a heavy duty power cable for engines. You can find the cable at a minimum length of 10 feet and a maximum of 100 feet. This power cable is used to supply electricity to machines that have engines operating on diesel. For this reason, it is usually the go to cable in mining and industrial locations. The cable is also ideal in such environments because it is resistant to oils, acids and alkalis. All these are thanks to the Ethylene Propylene (EP) insulation and the Chlorinated Propylene jacketing. The CPE and EPDM have been uniquely formulated to ensure the cable offers great performance regardless of the harsh surroundings. The 2383 Lbs cable supplies up to 600 volts of power at 814 amps.

The conductor of this cable has been put together while adhering to the AAR- 598 and ASTM B 33 international standards. This power cable only has one conductor cable with 814 amps. The 646 DLO cable conductor is made of fully annealed stranded tinned copper. Annealing is an important process that involves softening the copper. Rigid copper is difficult to deal with during installation and termination. Annealed copper makes it easy to cut and bend according to the needs of a customer. The conductor is ideal for heavy duty power supply as it is rated 600 volts
This cable comes with an insulator which is placed right after the copper conductor. It ensures the conductor is not tampered with in any way. Ethylene Propylene rubber (EP) has been used to insulate this diesel locomotive cable. This premium grade rubber works to protect the conductor against oils, water, chemicals, acids, abrasion and alkalis. This way the conductor offers reliable service for a long period. The EP insulation also ensures the user does not get electrocuted. It is therefore a safe cable to work with.
The jacket is the outermost part of this cable. It is black in color. The 262 DLO cable has a Chlorinated Propylene (CPE) jacket. The jacket is resistant to alkalis, moisture, UV light, acids, abrasion and other chemicals. It protects both the copper conductor and the EP insulation from chemical and physical injuries. Although the CPE jacket is very flexible, it must not be assumed that it is weak. On the contrary, CPE is a very tough material with the ability to combat any form of roughness that may affect the surface of the cable. CPE makes this power cable safe for use even in areas that are prone to fire outbreaks. This is because it releases a particular compound during combustion that allows it not to catch fire.
